Hi, I’m Janet.
I’m an EFT couples therapist in New Hampshire who works with couples struggling with communication, emotional distance, and navigating big life changes.
A secure and loving relationship can help you thrive, but what happens when that relationship is in trouble?
You don't have to deal with this alone. I help couples by creating a safe haven to access and share underlying emotions and vulnerabilities. We will work together to identify negative patterns keeping you stuck and learn new ways to reach each other.
Why choose to work with me?
Many times, couples begin therapy when it feels hopeless and on the brink of unresolvable loss. Don’t let this stop you from seeking help.
I have a PhD in Marriage and Family Therapy, where I received extensive clinical training in working with relationships in distress. I went beyond my PhD to receive further training in Emotionally Focused Therapy to specialize in this approach.
We can work together slowly to take steps toward one another again.

“To be human is to need others, and this is no flaw or weakness.”

My Story
I grew up in Cape Town, South Africa, with ancestral roots in parts of the United Kingdom. My family and I immigrated to the United States in 2000 when I was just finishing high school.
My first-hand experience with witnessing oppression in a developing country and adjusting to a new culture sparked a fire in me to pursue psychology and mental health. I received my BA in Psychology from the University of South Florida and spent time during and after my degree in a family research lab. It was here that I began to see a career opening up before me in couples and family therapy. When I discovered Antioch University, I felt at home. It was here that I could merge my love of systems, families, and care for others into a career.
As I matured in my personal and professional life, I connected with my emotions on a deeper level and experienced the power of vulnerability. My love for this work is sustained by the clients who show up even when it is scary to do so.
I love to witness couples rediscover small points of connection through extremely challenging times, and individuals shift in their demeanor as they learn to love themselves fully. I believe we all long to be seen and heard, and I am honored that I get to hold that brave space for people in a warm and gentle way.
